Gaysville, Vermont, Tuesday, May 4, 2010 –
Tweed River Bash First Year Success hailed the press and with that, Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck (Jeff Berlin, Jeremy Moses Curtis, Chris McGandy and James Rohr) proudly announce the second annual Tweed River Festival.
The Festival was such a success last year, the reaction we had from bands and from the people who attended was awesome – even though it poured! So we are doing it again and turning things up a notch: We are having a more secure stage, bigger and better sound system, a more sophisticated lighting set up, more vendors and camping spots plus a late night acoustic campfire stage, Bow Thayer, musician and Tweed River organizer, commented.
This year our bands will be even more diverse, you can expect to see some grinding riff rock, to bluegrass and everything in between including a much anticipated Benders Reunion. We feel that this year’s festival is in the prime position of being big enough to create a huge party atmosphere with lots of folks from near and far and because of the way the grounds are situated, with camping and music intertwined, maintain an intimate atmosphere often lost in the bigger festivals.
Meanwhile (in the here and now) in Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck news – 2010 has already been a wonderful year for the band. January saw them perform a sold-out benefit show at Randolph’s Chandler and later sell out Tunbridge Town Hall and release Bow’s stunning
Shooting Arrows At The Moon. Critics agree: The Burlington Free Press wrote this January 2010 of his new CD,
Shooting For Perfection: Bow Thayer, one of Vermont’s best kept musical secrets. While The Times Argus (Feb 5 2010) wrote:
one of Vermont’s finer musical acts… Bow’s got a perfect country-blues voice, all gravelly smoke and whiskey-laden, and is an excellent songwriter ta boot.
This Spring and Summer will see Bow and the band performing numerous shows & festivals (including Maine’s Nateva Music Festival in July where they will be in good company with bands like Furthur, Jakob Dylan, Drive By Truckers, Flaming Lips, She & Him….), but it is always special to play at home.
This festival feels so personal, said Bow,
I also love giving back to this town and state which has given me so much.
